🌽 Corn Protector: privacy

Effective October 26, 2026 · Publisher: CustomDev.co

The short version

Corn Protector works inside your browser. It reads the text of the pages you visit only to swap mentions of Iowa (and, on Platinum, words you choose) for an emoji. It never sends your pages, browsing history or anything you type anywhere.

What stays in your browser

Your settings (sites where it’s off, your emoji, your own words) and a daily count of replacements (shown on Plus). They’re kept with Chrome’s own extension storage, so they follow your Chrome profile if you sync it. Uninstalling removes them.

What leaves your browser

Two things, and nothing else: a random install id (not linked to your name or email), sent to Reverse Swear Jar to check which plan you have; and, only when a Platinum user presses “Find unusual spellings”, the single first name they typed, sent to our name finder, which asks an AI model (Anthropic’s Claude) for spellings and nicknames. Names are not stored or logged.

Payments

Plans are bought on Reverse Swear Jar’s checkout, run by Stripe. Card details go to Stripe, never to Corn Protector. Stripe’s privacy policy applies to the payment.

What we never do

Sell or share data, show ads, track you across sites, or use anything for credit, lending or any purpose other than replacing Iowa.
